DC Rajouri reviews implementation of pre, post-matric scholarship schemes
RAJOURI : To review the status of the pre and post matric scholarship under various categories in the district, Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Rajesh K Shavan today convened a meeting of the concerned officers here in the Conference Hall of the PWD Dak Bungalow.
The meeting was attended by CPO, Mohammad Khurshid; Chief Education Officer, Gulzar Hussain; Principal GDC Rajouri, Shakeel Raina; Principal GDC Thanamandi, Javaid Qazi; District Social Welfare Officer, Wakeel Ahmed Bhatt and Zonal Education Officers .
The Deputy Commissioner sought a detailed report from the concerned officers about the number of students enrolled with the educational institutions and the students entitled for receiving the benefits of the scholarship schemes.
He exhorted the officers to generate awareness, mentor and encourage the students to avail benefits of the scholarship schemes for their academics.
The Deputy Commissioner asked the officers to look into the reports that some SC/ST students are receiving the benefits of the Pahari scholarship and submit the necessary report in this regard in one week.
The need to extend benefits of scholarship to transgender students was also stressed upon. He asked the concerned officers to identify such students and submit the report in this connection at the earliest.
The Deputy Commissioner asked the concerned officers to ensure that no student is left out from availing the benefits of pre and post-matric scholarship schemes.
Referring to the women water conservation club set up in the district, he asked the concerned officers to ensure that all the girl students of the district above the age of eighteen years are registered with the club.
The Deputy Commissioner also asked the ZEOs to ensure that every school in the district has functional drinking water and toilet facilities so that the students don’t face any inconveniences. Directions were also issued to address the problem of student dropout.
