DC Rajouri takes first-hand appraisal of damages due to heavy rain, snowfall in the District

RAJOURI: Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal took a first-hand review of damages caused due to incessant rains and snowfall in the district.

The Deputy Commissioner directed all the Additional Deputy Commissioners and SDMs for early restoration of public utilities besides compilation of detailed reports of losses to the agriculture sector, and losses to livestock and personal property.

It was informed that the men and machinery are on job. Snow clearance works in most of the roads are in progress while restoration of power is also being made, and it is taking some time as the torrential rains have uprooted the electric poles. Moreover, line patrolling is also being done to ascertain the faults.

He also directed the Additional Deputy Commissioners and SDMs to submit the list of damages to the livestock and property so that the aggrieved can be compensated.

DC appealed the people to remain cautious and don’t venture out on slippery roads as it is more accident-prone and said every possible effort is being made to address the issues at the earliest.
