DC Ramban gives away Swach Vidyalaya Puraskar to Swach schools

 

RAMBAN : Deputy Commissioner, Ramban Mussarat Islam today presided over district level Swach Vidhyala Purskar function organised at UPS Phalti Zone, Ramban.

Member District Development Council, Ramban-B Renuka Katoch, Sarpanach Panchayat Maitra Mohinder Singh, officers from education department and civil society were also present at the function.

The Swachh Vidhyala Puraskar (SVP) has been instituted by the Ministry of Education Government of India to recognize, inspire and celebrate excellence in sanitation and hygiene practice in schools. Under the purskar, out of total 1007 Government and Private Schools of District, Ramban, 951 schools were registered on the designated portal and 890 schools were under final submission. Of the 658 shortlisted schools of the District after proper evaluation, 08 schools were selected under overall category and 14 schools under sub categories. Out of these schools, two schools Priyas Hemkrish High School Maitra and High School Chanderkote were selected for UT Level ranking.

The Deputy Commissioner, who is also the Chairman of Swach Vidyalaya Puraskar, was the chief guest and Chief Education Officer, Ramban, Dev Anand was guest of Honour. The Deputy Commissioner advised the students to read newspapers on a daily basis to develop their vocabulary besides improving their reading and speaking skills which would help in their personality development.

Speaking on the occasion, the DC stressed upon the teachers to be punctual and impart quality education to the students by using the latest techniques.

The Chief Education Officer congratulated the Heads of the 22 schools who were presented certificates of appreciation by the Deputy Commissioner for making their schools neat and clean, besides focusing on curricular and extracurricular activities.
