DC Ramban reviews progress of COVID-19 vaccination

 

Ramban: Deputy Commissioner, Ramban, Mussarat Islam, today convened District Task Force Committee meeting to review the progress on COVID-19 vaccination under Phase-III in the district.

Additional Deputy Commissioner, Harbans Lal; CPO, Dr. Kasturi Lal; CMO, Dr. Mohammad Fareed Bhat; Medical Superintendent, DH, Ramban; Dy.CMO, DPO, Executive Engineers of PWD, Jal Shakti, BMOs, besides other officers attended the meeting.’

The DC directed the officers of Health and other allied departments to accelerate the vaccination of people over the age of 60 years and those with co-morbidities( 45-59) to achieve the target.

He urged the CMO to start a media campaign to sensitize the targeted people about the necessity and benefits of COVID-19 vaccination. He also asked the DPO to seek cooperation of PRIs for motivating people to take COVID vaccine without any further delay.

The DC asked SDMs to engage PRIs and other concerned departments to engage people age- appropriate category to come to designated CVCs to take the first dose. Daily reports in this regard was also sought from concerned SDMs. While reviewing the status of COVID-19 testing, the DC directed the BMOs to scale up the testing to prevent the spread of infection in the district.

The CMO informed the meeting that as many as 150 RT-PCR samples were being collected in the district per day, in addition to the Rapid Test samples for which Medical Superintendent, DH, Ramban and all BMOs have to take effective measures.

The meeting was also informed that the District Administration has made Covid testing mandatory for all construction workers who are coming from outside into the district.
