DC Reasi distributes Motorized Tricycles among Divanagjans under MADAD

 

REASI : Deputy Commissioner, Reasi Charandeep Singh today distributed Motorized tricycles among Divangjans here at an awareness camp held in the DC Office Complex.

Speaking on the occasion, the DC said that Specially-abled persons are the part and parcel of our society and the government is making every endeavor for their wellbeing. He applauded the efforts made by the Social Welfare Department for organizing this awareness cum distribution camp. He hoped that the motorised Tricycles will empower the people with special needs and bring much needed ease in their life.

The DSWO was asked to educate the specially-abled persons about various schemes and programmes launched for their well being. He called for motivating them to avail the benefits of the recent MADAD (Maintenance of Differently Abled) initiative launched by District Administration.

The DC emphasized that the survey of Divangjans has been completed and digitization of data is being done to know their exact requirements.

Earlier, District Social Welfare Officer, Gulshan Kumar Sharma enlightened the participants about the various schemes meant for the welfare of specially-abled persons. He informed that the mobility of the specially abled people would be pivotal in earning them sustainable livelihoods without inconvenience.
