DC reviews arrangements for Iconic week festival events

 

UDHAMPUR : Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur, Indu Kanwal Chib today chaired a meeting of District and Sectoral Officers here at Conference Hall DC Complex to review the arrangements for the smooth celebration of Iconic week festival (Saadi Birasat) being organized by District Administrations of Udhampur and Ramban in collaboration with Tourism Department from 23rd to 29th October.

Additional District Development Commissioner, Kanta Devi; PO IWMP, Sapna Kotwal and other officers from Civil Administration & Police department attended the meeting.

Detailed discussions were held on the arrangements which included adequate drinking water supply, uninterrupted power supply, traffic management, and establishment of parking zones, conducting of Yoga session & allied arrangements for yoga instructors, establishment of craft Bazaar etc.

ARTO & Traffic police authorities were asked to device a transport/ traffic plan and parking plan for smooth and hassle free movement of the visitors during the celebration. The DC advised the concerned department to work out a comprehensive plan for vehicle parking and also establish parking zones near venue sites. Directions were issued to all the concerned officers for putting in place the required arrangements with specific directions to Xens of PHE & PDD for making the arrangements for drinking water and uninterrupted power supply at the venue(s). Xen PWD was also directed to make necessary arrangements for the stage/sitting & stay of jury members, participants and audience for the said event.

District Youth Services & Sports officer was asked to nominate two anchors for the event at Patnitop and CEO PDA for making logistic arrangements for guests/participants during the event. The Fire & Emergency Services department was asked to deploy required number of fire tenders at the venues.

The CMO was also directed to establish first aid centre in each zone as per the plan of PDA and also ensure availability of ambulance and deployment of doctors.
