DC reviews COVID care management facilities in Kupwara

Kupwara: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Anshul Garg today convened a meeting of concerned officers to review the progress of health care facilities with special focus on sampling and treatment of COVID-19 and non-Covid patients in the district.
The DC directed CMO to make the Dialysis Centre functional at new IPD block SDH Kupwara from June 15 with 2 shifts in a week after proper fumigation.
He also directed the concerned officials to make Sub District Hospital Kupwara fully functional by June 22 for non COVID patients and keep 50 bedded Old IPD block reserved for emergency besides continuing 20 bedded AMT school exclusively for pregnant ladies.
The meeting was informed that 1200 samples of pregnant ladies, whose expected date is up to June 30, have been collected; of which 28 cases have been found COVID positive.
It was added that sampling of pregnant ladies whose expected date is up to July 31 shall be started from next week and so far 3 surgical operations of COVID positive pregnant ladies were done at COVID hospital Kupwara.
The DC directed concerned officers to ensure blood testing for COVID examination of all vulnerable categories including old aged persons, diabetic, kidney and hypertensive patients in all red zones and sought issuing scheduled notification 2 days earlier with information to concerned Tehsildar and SHO.
The Additional Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Nazir Ahmad Lone, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Chief Medical Officer, District Health Officer & Nodal Officer COVID, District Information Officer Kupwara, Mohammad Yousuf Mir and other concerned were present in the meeting.
