DC Samba finalises activity calendar for Road Safety Month-2021

Samba: Deputy Commissioner Samba, Rohit Khajuria today finalized the proposed activities to be conducted during upcoming “Road Safety month 2021’ here at a meeting of District Road Safety Committee.

The Road Safety month is starting on January 18 and would conclude on Feb 17, 2021.

Assistant Commissioner Revenue Jitinder Mishra, Additional SP Ajaz Zargar, Assistant Road Transport Officer, Rehana Tabassum, District Information officer, Ajay Sharma, Project Director NHAI Ajay Rajak, , besides other members of District Road Safety Committee were present in the meeting.

The meeting was briefed about the proposed activities schedule to be held during the month, including road safety awareness programme -Rahgiri (walkthon), Transport Department’s table presentation, medical checkup of drivers, holding of pledges & signature campaign, intensifying checking by establishing additional Nakkas, hosting of awareness camps at Block level, Women Safety in Public Transport besides workshop on vehicle registration, insurances, fitness test etc.

Deputy Commissioner Samba laid emphasis upon conducting the proposed activities throughout the district with added vigour and inter- departmental cohesion. He said these programmes have yielded desired results as Road fatalities in the district Samba has seen huge dip.

The DC also stressed on sensitizing the driver community about the Road Safety measures besides exhorted upon all the district officers to visit personally to each camp location.
