DC Udhampur reviews status of workers’ registration on E-Shram Portal

 

UDHAMPUR : To review the registration of unorganized workers on national database for unorganized workers ( NDUW) e- shram portal, Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur Indu Kanwal Chib today convened a meeting of officers of various departments here in Mini Conference Hall DC Office Complex.

BDC Chairman, Balwan Singh, GM DIC, PO ICDS, CMO, and other officers of different departments attended the meeting.

At the onset, Assistant Labour Commissioner, Pradyot Gupta gave a detailed powerpoint presentation about the use of the e-shram portal. He apprised the DC that 8111 unorganized sector workers have been registered in the district since the launch of the e-Shram portal by the Central Government in the month of August 2021.

The DC said that the e-Shram portal launched by the Government is aimed at facilitating better execution of various social security schemes for all unorganized sector workers. She said that the portal will not only register unorganized workers but also be helpful in delivering various social security schemes being implemented by the Government.

She directed the concerned to achieve the target before December this year to benefit the maximum number of eligible persons . She also instructed the officers present to ensure holding of regular registration camps in the district and CSC level for the unorganized workers.

The DC added that awareness camps would prove helpful to disseminate information education and communication amongst the prospective beneficiaries of e-Shram and their implementation through the labour and employment department and other official machinery.

She highlighted that beneficiaries will get the benefits of PMSBY for one year of Rs. 2 lakh for accidental death and full disability and Rs. 1 lakh for partial disability.

The DC further directed the concerned officers to work in proper coordination in mentoring of mobilization of target sub-groups of unorganized workers like MGNREGA workers, SHGs, NRLM, NULM, Street vendors, Auto drivers etc.
