DC visits composite skill development Bamboo craft centre at Dalsar

 

UDHAMPUR : To assess the potential and revival of Bamboo craft in the District, Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur Indu Kanwal Chib along DDC Councilor, Aarti Sharma, DDC Councilor, Jattu Ram, SDM Ramnagar, AD Handloom, N D Verma and other officers on Friday visited the composite skill development bamboo craft centre Dalsar of Tehsil Ramnagar.

During the visit, the DC interacted with the artisans including the general public of the area and listened to their issues and demands. They demanded adequate machinery and tools, toilet facility, Electricity etc.

The DC assured them that the demands will be met on priority. She urged the inhabitants associated with the crafts to get themselves registered with the Department for availing various incentives being extended by the Government for producing quality products besides their economic uplift.

She advised the artisans to adopt innovative technology in the field of bamboo craft and directed concerned officers to gear up their field functionaries to ensure that the benefits of various government schemes percolate to the deserving artisans and weavers.

Later, the Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur launched a Hindi Book title “SANGHARSH EK PARENA” written by Shiv Dev Singh (Tayagi) at Town Hall Ramnagar in presence of President MC, Ramnagar Banti Devi, Renowned Dogri writer Prof. Shiv Nirmohi, SDM Ramnagar, Wahid Ul- Rehman and other writers, poets besides senior citizens of Ramnagar and Udhampur.
