DDC Anantnag calls for early identification of prospective beneficiaries for effective utilisation of DCP

Anantnag: The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Anantnag, Dr. Piyush Singla today chaired the District Level Review-cum-Consultative Committee (DLRC) meeting of concerned officers at Dak Bangalow Khanabal here.

During the proceedings, the performance of banks and line departments for the Quarter 4th ended 31st March 2021 of FY 2020-21 was reviewed in detail.

The Lead District Manager, Mohammad Aafaq apprised the meeting about the main achievements of the district as of 31st March, 2021.

He informed the chair that there was a growth of 2.73 percent (from Rs. 6245 Crores to Rs. 6415.78 Crores) and 2.63 percent (from Rs. 4198 Crores to Rs. 4308.44 Crores) in deposits and advances respectively during this quarter while the CD ratio of the district was 67.15 percent at the end of this quarter.

It was further given out that overall targets of 60 percent were achieved by the banks in the FY 2020-21.

The LDM also presented the role of the Kisan Pakhwada Programme in increasing the sponsorship for the number of KCC cases in agriculture and allied sectors.

Reviewing the performance of Banks, the DDC impressed upon the bank officials to make efforts for achieving maximum targets in priority sector advances for the current financial year. He asked them to expedite the lending process in agriculture, horticulture and other allied sectors for generating viable employment opportunities in the district.

The DDC said the benefit of government sponsored schemes should reach the deserving and efforts should be made to cover all prospective beneficiaries of the district. He exhorted for conducting FLCC and other awareness camps so that more people are awarded and hence get benefited under various social security and entrepreneurial/ employment generating schemes.

Dr. Singla also called for early identification of genuine prospective entrepreneurs by the line departments so that the District Credit Plan (DCP) is utilised effectively and the economy of the district gets a major boost.

The meeting was attended by the Chief Planning Officer, DDM NABARD, District/ Sectoral officers of various departments, bankers and other concerned officers.
