DDC Anantnag holds meeting with specially-abled persons

Anantnag: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Anantnag, Bashir Ahmad Dar today held a meeting with the Specially Abled Persons of the district.
ACR Anantnag, Syed Yasir Kubravi, ACD Anantnag, District Social Welfare Officer, Anantnag and Padam Shree awardee Javaid Ahmad Tak among others attended the meeting.
Detailed discussions with regard to various Social Welfare schemes, healthcare, education, employment, organising Sports events, construction of Ramps for the Specially Abled and overall welfare of the specially-abled persons was held in the meeting.
The Padam Shree awardee Javaid Ahmad Tak suggested various welfare steps which need to be taken by the district administration for the welfare of specially-abled persons including construction of ramps in all the government buildings, job reservation and welfare schemes, timely disbursing of various grants by Social Welfare Departments.
Besides, they also demanded scholarships in favour of children, provision of Hand Controlled Scooters for the disables, free treatment in all government and private hospitals, availability of teaching learning material for school children with disabilities and provision for specially-abled persons Self Help Groups in various government executing agencies.
On the occasion, DDC Anantnag assured that all possible steps would be taken for the welfare of the specially-abled persons of the district. He assured a special sports event of various categories will be organized in the district.
