DDC Bandipora chairs DLRC meeting, reviews performance of banks

Bandipora: District Development Commissioner (DDC), Bandipora Dr Owais Ahmad Wednesday chaired a meeting of District Level Review Committee/District Consultative Committee (DLRC/DCC) convened by Lead District Manager Bandipora.

The meeting was attended by Joint Director Planning Imtiyaz Ahmad, Lead District Manager Bandipora Mr. Mehrajuddin Naqash, DDM NABARD Asif Bhat, managers of various Banks and heads of various line departments of the district.

While reviewing the performance of Banks and Government departments under various scheme, DDC Bandipora Dr Owais directed for speedy disposal for government sponsored cases. He advised all the banks and the sponsoring agencies to work in coordination and cohesion to achieve the goals and targets for development progress and eradication of unemployment.

Earlier, while welcoming all the heads of line departments, District Coordinators of various Banks of the District, Lead District Manager presented the performance of all banks and line departments of the district for quarter that ended September 2020.

The meeting was informed that all banks operating in the district have extended credit aggregating to an amount of Rs 151.41 Cr under priority sector amounting to 78.73 percent while Rs 88.21 cr under non-priority sector aggregating to total credit of Rs 239.62 Crore registering an achievement of 19 percent in priority sector , 81 percent in non-priority sector and 26 percent in total annual credit plan upto the end of second quarter ending 30 September 2020.

Lead Bank manager informed the house that J&K Bank alone has disbursed Rs 190.97 crores against the yearly target of Rs 461.76 Crores showing an achievement of 41 percent.

The meeting was informed that 43 awareness camps were conducted by the banks, Rural Self Employment Training Institute (RSETI) and Financial Literacy Council under the Lead District Office Bandipora for the quarter ending September 2020 in addition to nine special camps conducted by the FLCC posted in the district.

It was given that JKBRSETI Bandipora has not conducted any EDP training during the period because of COVID19 SOPs. However 20 awareness camps were conducted during the period at different locations of the district.

On the occasion, DDC impressed on concerned that much is needed to be done in the district and there are many uncovered areas in Banking Sector including Gurez valley.

He said the line departments have to be more proactive so that all the benefits are passed on to the grass root level of the needy people.

On the occasion the potential linked credit plan (PLP) 2021-22 prepared by NARBARD for Bandipora district was launched by the DDC Bandipora while the District Credit Plan for the financial year 2021-22 for the district was also approved in the meeting.
