DDC Bandipora launches ‘Hifazat’ sustained community outreach programme

Bandipora: District Development Commissioner (DDC), Bandipora Ravinder Kumar Saturday launched a sustained community outreach programme titled “HIFAZAT-Bandipora Fights Back COVID-19”.
The Public outreach programme has been launched with an aim to create mass awareness about the Do’s and Dont’s to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
DDC Bandipora on the eve said that with gradual ease in lockdown restrictions, an urgent need has arisen for sustained awareness efforts on COVID-19 with the community participation at grassroots level in the district, as a precautionary measure for prevention of Community Transmission of COVID-19.
The district administration has devised a 14-point strategy that shall involve community leaders, NGOs and government departments to create awareness and sensitize people about the COVID-19.
The district administration formed Corona Action Teams at Panchayat level with PRI representatives, Lumberdars, Asha workers and Anganwari workers as its members and shall be responsible for creating awareness at grassroots level on usage of masks, hand sanitizers, regular hand wash and adhering to social distancing norms.
During the campaign, the District Information Centre Bandipora was directed to conduct an awareness programme to sensitize local population on COVID-19 sampling andensure sustained awareness programme on all platforms viz print, electronic and social media on daily basis besides highlighting different success stories and exceptional work done during the pandemic, on daily basis.
The Chief Medical Officer, Bandipora, was directed to ensure training of staff from various departments, service providers, etc. on precautions on COVID-19, deployment of senior doctors for awareness shows, with special focus on Sampling, through various platforms in consultation with DIC, Bandipora.
The Chief Education Officer Bandipora was directed that the students attending online classes, are sensitized about the COVID19 and tele-classes through online and cable mode shall mandatorily include zero-period for awareness on Corona Virus on daily basis.
The DDC Bandipora said all concerned Tehsildars along with Police counterparts, Executive Officers of Municipal Committees, shall also conduct awareness programmes on corona virus and shall also impose penalties or fines on habitual offenders of social distancing norms and usage of masks, etc.
He said the concerned officers of works Departments including R&B, PHE I&FC, RDD, PMGSY Others shall visit the sites of works under execution and shall sensitize the engaged workforce regarding corona virus and shall monitor violations of SOPs.
The Assistant Commissioner, Revenue, Bandipora, was nominated over-all Nodal Officer of the programme and a District Control Room is to be established for coordination and monitoring of daily awareness activities.
