DDC Bandipora reviews implementation of RDD Schemes

Bandipora: District Development Commissioner Bandipora, Dr Owais Ahmed today reviewed the implementation of several centrally sponsored schemes by Rural Development Department (RDD).
The meeting discussed the status of various ongoing works under MGNREGA, the DDC directed the concerned to focus on creating valuable and useful assets under the scheme with special focus on irrigation and water conservation works besides rural connectivity.
He exhorted upon the officers of different departments to work in convergence mode with the Rural Development Department for providing employment as well as creating valuable assets in the rural areas.
Regarding PMAY(G) the DDC directed the BDOs to identify the genuine beneficiaries under this scheme to ensure that the money is utilized for the construction of their houses only.
He urged the officers to intensify their awareness campaign about various welfare schemes at Panchayat level and involve representatives of PRIs.
Dr Owais on the occasion, emphasised the need for adherence to social distancing, usage of masks and personal sanitation at the work sites.
The meeting was attended by Assistant Commissioner Development, District Panchayat Officer, BDOs and other senior officers of the district.
