DDC Chairman, DC Rajouri listen to people’s issues at village Peeri of block Koteranka

 

RAJOURI : District Development Council Chairperson Rajouri, Advocate Naseem Liaqat and Deputy Commissioner, Vikas Kundal today listened to public issues at the weekly Block Divas programme held at village Peeri of Block Kotranka.

District and Sectoral officers, besides Sarpanches, panches and the general public participated in the public outreach programme.

Sarpanches, Panches and the general public of the adjoining Panchayats projected several demands and problems being faced by them.

They demanded augmentation of PDD and Jal Shakti department, ending unscheduled curtailment of power; adequate drinking water supply, repair of internal roads; deployment of staff in Health and Education institutions.

Specific issues raised included Stationing of Officials; repair of Building of High school panihad; payment of compensation among the beneficiaries of Parrori to Gurah sarkari road; work on the Dhar Sakri road to be started at the earliest; ATM for the Peeri; Panchayat wise awareness camps; proper utilization of funds under Tribal sector; Hand Pump at Higher secondary school Tralla; posting of seasonal teachers and other issues.

After listening to their demands and issues, the officers of the line departments redressed many grievances on the spot and also made the public aware of different projects and schemes.

The Chairperson DDC Rajouri highlighted several issues and said cooperation of PRI’s and officers was imperative for the overall development of the areas.

He also stressed on interdepartmental coordination and urged the officers to work in tandem to remove the bottlenecks for developmental projects.

Responding to the issues projected by the locals, he asked the district administration to resolve the problem of the shortage of drinking water in the rural areas. He urged the DC for effective implementation of the JJM in the district in the larger interest of the public.

He also highlighted the issues of irrational electricity bills and sought effective implementation of other schemes of the power sector.

The Chairperson also sought early start of work on projects taken up under PMGSY phase 4 to connect habitations lacking connectivity. He also requested for taking up the matter with higher authorities for sanctioning of GDC Peeri.
