DDC Chairperson, Deputy Commissioner jointly chair Block Diwas at Shallabugh, Ganderbal

GANDERBAL : The District Development Council (DDC) Chairperson Ganderbal, Nuzhat Ishfaq and Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Shyambir today jointly chaired weekly Block Diwas at Govt. Girls High School Shallabugh, here.

The Block Diwas was attended by Vice chairperson DDC Ganderbal, Bilal Ahmad; ADDC Ganderbal, Mushtaq Ahmad Simnani; ADC, Farooq Ahmad Baba; ACD, Executive Engineer R&B and other district and sectoral officers. BDC chairperson Sherpathri, PRIs and locals of Block Sherpathri were also present on the occasion.

During the proceedings of Block Diwas, PRIs and locals raised a number of grievances related to better drainage and macdamization of roads, augmentation of water and power supply, availability of timber and other issues of public importance were also highlighted.

The DC gave patient hearing to the issues raised on the occasion and necessary directions were issued to concerned officers for redressal of all possible issues on immediate basis under their competence.

Speaking on the occasion, the DC said that District Administration is committed to provide all possible facilities at the doorsteps of the people especially living in far-off areas adding that various development works are in full swing in Shallabugh and other blocks of the district as per the demands of the people and transparency is ensured at all levels.

While replying the issue of augmentation of water supply, the DC said that Jal Shakti department is directed to lay down the pipe line as per the requirement on war footing basis.

On the occasion the DC suggested the PRIs to chalk out the list of works as per the demands of the locals so that same could be put up in upcoming fourth phase of Back to Village progam.

The DC also urged the locals to participate actively in ongoing Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan and urged them to destroy the wild Bung whereever it is cultivated so that our society is made free from the drug menace.

DDC Chairperson while speaking on the occasion said that Shallabugh will be developed as Modern Hi-Tech Village under SAGY and action plan of Rs 13.61 crore is also framed for its development. He further added that under Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Solid Waste Management project is also sanctioned for Hatbura and Shallabugh under which all waste will be disposed on scientific basis besides Nallah Sindh will be beautified to revive the water transport and Shallabugh wetland will be developed.
