DDC Chairperson Kathua inaugurates Jan Aushadi Kendra at SDH Basohli

Inspects installation work of Oxygen Generation Plant, Ultrasound Machine

 

KATHUA : District Development Council, Chairperson Kathua Mahan Singh today inaugurated an outlet of Jan Aushadi Kendra at Sub district hospital Basohli. An Ambulance for Primary Health Centre, Hatt was also dedicated to the public.

Speaking on the occasion, the DDC Chairperson said the facility of Jan Aushadi Kendra is a part of the Centre’s initiative to promote affordable and quality generic medicines among the patients under Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Jan Aushadi Pariyojana (PMBJP). He said Jan Aushadhi Kendra not only provides affordable medicine of different types to the people but also provides opportunity to qualified locals to get employment to run it.

Block Medical Officer Basohli, Dr Anuradha Kerni said that the Jan Aushadi Kendra is a valuable asset for the community as some portion of the profit goes to the allotted vendor and some portion to the Hospital Development Fund.

The DDC Chairperson also inspected the ongoing installation work of a newly purchased ultrasound machine in SDH Basohli. He said the ultrasound machine costing Rs 14 lac will benefit Basohli and the peripheral areas.

While inspecting the ongoing installation work of the Oxygen Generation Plant at SDH Basohli, the chairperson passed directions to the executing agency to make it functional at the earliest.

The BMO Basohli apprised DDC chairperson that a 10 Bed with ventilator facility in SDH Basohli and 5 Bed with Ventilator facility in Mahanpur have been made functional to meet any medical emergencies.

DDC Chairperson informed that for establishment of blood bank in SDH Basohli, a proposal of Rs 10 lakh has been submitted to the higher authorities for approval. He said a separate proposal for a new building for mortuary has also been sent to improve the health infra of SDH Basohli.

He said the matter of shortage of staff has been taken up with the higher authorities from time to time and recently the post of Pathologist and a Surgeon has been filled by posting specialist doctors. He said the matter of vacant post of Physician at SDH Basohli and vacant post of doctor at NTPC Sialag will also be taken up with concerned authority.
