DDC Chairperson Ramban chairs meeting to discuss District Development Plan

Ramban: To discuss modalities for finalizing the District Development Plan (Capex Budget) 2021-22, District Development Council Chairperson, Dr. Shamshad Shan, today chaired a joint meeting of PRIs and District and Sectoral officers was held at Conference Hall, Maitra.

Vice- Chairperson, Rabia Beig, Deputy Commissioner, Mussarat Islam, BDC Chairpersons, DDC Members, ADC, CPO, ACD, DPO, Executive Engineers and other senior officers attended the meeting.

Shamshad Shan exhorted upon Rural Development Department to hold Gram Sabhas to formulate the local plan. She asked to take all the stakeholders on board in the formulation of development plans in accordance with the ceiling conveyed to them. She directed to inform concerned BDC Chairpersons, DDC members about the schedule of Gram Sabhas.

A comprehensive discussion was held wherein the chairperson stressed on ensuring public participation at grass root levels while framing the plan. She emphasized upon the PRIs to play a proactive role so that all the necessities are completed well within the stipulated time.

Meanwhile, the chairperson took a brief appraisal of the implementation of various centrally sponsored schemes and programmes. She exhorted to ensure that these schemes are implemented effectively on the ground level.

Earlier, the ADC, who is the Chief Executive Officer of the DDC, gave a detailed resume of proposals and highlighted various aspects associated with the district plan.
