DDC Chairperson Udhampur convenes special Gram Sabha at Panchayat Hartaryan

 

UDHAMPUR : To mark the celebration of International Women’s Day, a special Gram Sabha under MGNREGA was conducted by District development Council Udhampur under the Chairmanship of the Council Chairperson, Lal Chand here at Panchayat Ghar Hartaryan.

BDC Chairman, Udhampur Balwan Singh, DDC Councillor, Tikri Ashu Sharma besides general public, elected representatives, field functionaries of various departments participated in the Gram Sabha.

The locals and PRIs projected several demands and problems being faced by them. They demanded adequate staff in upper GHS Hartaryan, construction of road from Sunari to Kot Ballian, construction of playgrounds, Upgradation of roads, augmentation of drinking water supply in the area, adequate electricity supply, installation of electric transformer and provision of electric poles at Hartaryan, establishment of community Hall, Implementation of JJM scheme etc.

After listening to the demands and problems of the people, the DDC Chairperson directed the concerned officers to take concrete measures to address the same. He further directed the departments to organise mass awareness camps to educate the general public about Government schemes so that maximum people take the benefit of these schemes. The DDC Chairperson assured the general public that such public outreach camps would be organized at regular intervals to solve the genuine problems of the people at their doorsteps.

The DDC Chairperson also appreciated the work done by RDD, Health, education and other sectors by evolving an efficient services delivery system and effective implementation of government schemes in the district.

The DDC Chairperson highlighted the role of gram sabha and said that it was an important element of the Panchayati Raj system. He called upon the people to take maximum benefits of the different schemes of the department for the upliftment of their socio economy status.
