DDC directs for completing construction work of GMC Anantnag in a time bound manner

Anantnag: The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Anantnag, Dr. Piyush Singla today directed the officials of executing agency (JKPCC) to expedite the pace of ongoing work in various blocks of Government Medical College Anantnag and complete the project in a time bound manner.

He passed these directions on his visit to the College at Dialgam where he enquired about the status of work besides making onspot assessment of its quality and pace.

The DDC inspected different blocks of the college including Academic, Library and Administrative Blocks, Residential Quarters and Hostels.

Checking the quality of material, the DDC stressed for use of quality and durable material in tune with the standards and local conditions. He also called for improving the overall finish and aesthetic value of surfaces and walls besides proper filling and levelling of the lawns. “Given the size and number of buildings, modalities for harvesting and conserving rainwater must be worked out,” he remarked.

Dr. Singla directed the executing agency to work in double shifts for its completion within the stipulated time frame. He asked Principal GMC to have a close coordination with the agency for speeding up the pace of work.

Officers of PHE and PDD were directed to expedite tendering and other processes for installation of proper water supply and electricity to the college.

DGM, JKPCC apprised the DDC that work is in final phase on administrative and departmental blocks while as departmental blocks, hostels and residential quarters are also in advanced stages.

CPO, Exen PHE, AO GMC and other concerned officers were also present on the occasion.
