DDC Doda launches plantation drive at Block Bhalla under MGNREGA

Doda: District Development Commissioner, Dr Sagar D Doifode today launched a massive plantation drive, here at Block Bhalla under MGNREGA scheme.
The plantation drive was kick-started by the DDC at different locations in the block by planting a sapling in the presence of BDC Chairman and other PRI members of the Block.
The DDC Informed that near about 6500 pit’s have already been digged at various locations in the block and 5000 fruit tree saplings are targeted to be planted over 300 kanal proprietary land of the farmers in the Bhalla area.
The DDC said that the farmers all over the district are coming forward and are actively participating in these kind of initiatives and district administration is also persistently working for their progress.
He also said that all these fruit bearing saplings are provided by the horticulture department to the rural development department and the labour cost for pit digging component and the material payment component will be borne under the MGNREGA.
The DDC Doda also informed that after the culmination of the plantation drive the block, the same kind of activities will be carried out throughout the district in the upcoming days, to revive and boost the horticulture economy of the district.
Others present during the program were ACD, Chief Agriculture Officer Doda, Chief Horticulture officer, BDO Bhalla, besides other officials of the rural development department.
