DDC Doda reviews preparation of health institutions to combat Coronavirus

Doda: District Development Commissioner (DDC), Dr Sagar D Doifode today reviewed the preparedness of local health institutions for combating the threat of Novel Corona virus.
The CMO District Hospital, Dr Mushtaq Ahmed Shah gave a detail presentation regarding the preventive measures/steps taken to prevent the affect of Corona virus and the measures taken by the health department to tackle the cases, if any reported in the district.
He informed that majority of the deaths which have been witnessed in China and other affected countries till now happened due to weak immune system. He said to fight the virus the general public needs to be advised to follow healthy and hygienic lifestyle.
He further apprised the DC that already a control room has been established at Associated Hospital of GMC Doda with phone number 01996233465 under the supervision of Dr Anil Padda. “A rapid response team in this regard has been already constituted and isolation ward has been established at Associated Hospital of GMC Doda with proper staff and availability of ventilator’ he informed.
He also said that requisite stock has already been made availed, which includes personal protection kit’s, N-95 Mask, Vial transport media (VTM).
He further informed that orientation programme were organized for the Asha workers and they were sensitized about the symptoms, causes and precautions against the novel corona virus. He said a similar program is being organised for MOs, ANMs and Lab assistants tomorrow at Associated Hospital.
The DDC called for generating mass awareness about symptoms of the virus and precautions to be taken to prevent the outbreak.
Among others present were M S Associated Hospital GMC Doda, Dr Yaqoob Mir; District Health Officer Dr Tariq; District Epidemiologist, Umar Anayat Khan besides officials of information department.
