DDC inspects progress of developmental works in Rajouri Township
Rajouri: District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Rajesh K Shavan on Friday conducted a tour of Rajouri Township and inspected progress of developmental works being executed there.
The DDC was accompanied by the Additional Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Sher Singh; Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Mohd Ashraf; Executive Engineer PWD Rajouri, Mohd Zubair besides the President MC Rajouri, Mohd Arief also accompanied the DDC during his visit.
While inspecting the double-laning of Abdullah Bridge with a total length of 120 meters, it was informed that the project has been approved under languishing scheme at an estimated cost of Rs 4.78 crores. The DDC asked the concerned authorities to speed up the work on the project to ensure its time bound completion which will help to mitigate traffic jam problem in the town.
The DDC also inspected the work on circular road being constructed to create an important alternate link within the town, which will reduce the distance by around 4-5 kilometer by connecting New Bridge to Tariq Bridge. However, the DDC was apprised that two houses are coming in the alignment of the road which needs the intervention of the district administration. The DDC asked the Assistant Commissioner Revenue to submit a report in this regard. He also asked for regular monitoring of the progress on the projects and maintaining the quality of work.
