DDC Kathua conducts extensive tour of Border villages of Hiranagar
Kathua: District Development Commissioner Kathua, Rahul Yadav today conducted extensive tour of villages along international border in Hiranagar sub division.
The DDC visited BOP Bobiya, BOP Karol Krishna and BOP Manyari and interacted with Commandant 173 bn BSF, Commandant 19 bn BSF and Border residents and listened to their grievances.
The DDC,s accompanied by Chief Agriculture Officer, Vijay Kumar Upadhaya , visited the areas along the fence where wheat crop over 90 acres was sown first time with the efforts of District Administration and BSF. The CAO apprised the DDC about the preparation regarding the harvesting of wheat crop.
While interacting with local residents, the DDC encouraged them to cultivate their abandoned land across the fence. He appealed the farmers to avail this opportunity to cultivate their land as there is congenial atmosphere at International Border as both India and Pakistan have agreed to observe cease fire at borders.
The DDC assured border residents that district administration will extend every help to the locals and further assured that issues related to Revenue department and other concerned departments will be taken up on priority.
The residents of zero line villages expressed their willingness to sow their abandoned land after detailed discussions with DDC.
The other officers who accompanied the DDC were SDM Hiranagar Ramesh Kumar Sharma, District Agriculture Officer Raju Mahajan and SDAO Pradeep Sharma.
Pertinently the district administration with the help of BSF authorities have taken steps to motivate residents to cultivate their around 3000 kanal land on the Indian side of International Border. Under the initiative wild growth of Sarkanda and dense bushes were removed over 90 acres of land with the help of BSF authorities and made it cultivable.
