DDC Kathua reviews arrangements for ‘Kissan Pakhwada’
Kathua: District Development Commissioner, O.P Bhagat, today chaired a meeting of officers to discuss modalities for ‘Kissan Pakhwada’ being held from 7th to 21st of July 2020.
While exhorting the bankers and officers of agriculture and allied departments to remain proactive to achieve desired results during fortnight long ‘Kisan Pakhwada’, DDC said the focus must be on enabling farmers to have easy access of concessional loans for the farming activities by means of KCC. He asked them to reach out to the farmers even before the start of the ‘Kissan Pakhwada’ and make them aware about their schemes and programmes which can be availed by farmers through KCC. All efforts shall be made to make people aware about the benefits to be driven from the welfare schemes such as KCC, PM-KISSAN etc for which publicity material such as hoardings, pamphlets and banners shall be installed at public places, he added.
He directed the officers to ensure cent percent coverage of farmers including all those belonging to Animal, Sheep Husbandry and Fisheries sector under the purview of centrally sponsored PM Kissan and KCC schemes.
While discussing the status of PM-Kissan, the DDC directed the revenue department to clear the pendency of verification of record of eligible farmers at the earliest so that the final list can be consolidated to achieve the target on time. He asked departments to launch massive awareness regarding the Pakhwada and the schemes including new technologies of cultivation besides removing the bottlenecks in obtaining loans against KCC from different financial institutions.
The DDC directed Chief Agriculture Officer Kathua to make a calendar of activities for ‘Kissan Pakhwada’ involving all the stakeholders.
Lead Bank Manager Kathua was directed to ensure that all bank branches of the district have proper hoardings, literatures regarding various schemes available and ensure that branches are adhering to the laid down SOPs related to COVID-19 while carrying out activities related to the campaign.
Among others the meeting was attended by CPO Kathua, CAHO, Chief Agriculture officer, Chief Horticulture Officer, Lead Bank manager, ADM other concerned officers.
