DDC Kishtwar reviews functioning of Education Department, NRLM, Municipal Council

Kishtwar: District Development Commissioner, Kishtwar, Ashok Sharma, today reviewed the functioning and progress of the various developmental Projects of National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM), Municipal Council and Education Department here at a meeting.

The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Pawan Parihar Joint Director Planning, Mohammad Iqbal; President MC, Riyaz Ahmed Zargar; Chief Education Officer, Ashok Kumar; LDM, Nasir Ahmed Butt; XEn PwD Division, Romesh Jamwal; XEn Marwah Mohammad Aslam Lone; DPM, NRLM, Sartaj Ahmed, besides others concerned officers and officials.

For 100 percent Adhaar generation in district, the DDC directed ADC to expedite the process in convergence mode with other departments. He further asked the CEO to install the Adhaar machines at the left out places/schools to cover the students.

During review of the functioning of Municipal Council Kishtwar, President MC highlighted the various issues like maintenance of streets and the extension of the existing Bus stand besides the slow pace of some works undertaken by the executing agencies at various places.

The DDC assured him of immediate redress of the issues, while directing the EO MC, Tariq Ahmed Balwan to identify the places where the CSC centres could be established as per the feasibility of people so that 100 % coverage under the PM-JAY sehat scheme was achieved in a time bound manner.

While reviewing the progress regarding 163 sanctioned houses under PMAY (U), it was informed in the meeting that 50 have been completed and rest are at the different stages of development and will be completed in stipulated time.

The DDC further informed that the land for the slaughter house has been transferred by revenue Department and soon the work for the same shall start soon. He further informed that the land for the solid waste management plant has also been identified and the documentation process is in the pipeline.

On the complaint by the local educated youths, the CEO was asked to ensure the compliance of the Government order for ban on the teaching of Govt Employees particularly teachers in private coaching institutions in letter and spirit. He asked for identification of such persons for disciplinary action.

XEns PWD was impressed upon to expedite the pace of the developmental works, including the construction of KGVB at Marwah and Warwan so that they may be completed well in time.

On the issue of identification and acquisitions of the land for 100 bedded girls hostel at Afti Warwan and Yourdu Marwah, he directed the CEO to identify the land on immediate basis.

Earlier in a meeting with officials of NRLM, he reviewed implementation of Jammu Kashmir State Rural Livelihood Mission (JKNRLM) in district through detailed presentation.

Highlighting that Umeed project is aimed at providing better livelihood to the women especially living in rural areas, he stressed to focus on convergence with line departments for extending benefit to the targeted people from all the existing government schemes and thereby empowering the women in rural areas for achieving the inclusive growth.
