DDC Kishtwar reviews progress of key development projects

 

KISHTWAR : District Development Commissioner Kishtwar Ashok Sharma today chaired a meeting of the key Departments and reviewed the developmental Scenario in the district.

The meeting was attended by Joint Director Planning, Mohd Iqbal; General Manager, DIC Khalid Hussain Malik; SDM Chhatroo, Inderjeet Singh Parihar; Superintendent Engineer, PDD Asgar Hussain; District Social Welfare Officer, Tariq Parveaz Qazi; Chief Education Officer Rashpal Singh Chauhan; Chief Agriculture Officer, S K Bhagat, Chief Horticulture Officer, Mushtaq Ahmed Wani; Executive Engineers, Jal Shakti , PDD, PWD and PMGSY among others.

At the outset, the Joint Director Planning apprised about the present physical and financial status of the iconic developmental projects through a powerpoint presentation.

Sector wise review of the centrally sponsored schemes and welfare schemes besides the progress of languishing projects, B2V3 , PMDP and SBM works was also held in the meeting.

The DC laid special thrust on expediting the pace of progress on the iconic projects, particularly in the snow bound areas so that these projects are completed before winter.

The executing agencies were asked to stick to the timeline and ensure the quality of work.

Seeking restoration of power and water supply in snow bound areas disrupted in the recent spell of snow and rains, the DDC Kishtwar stressed the concerned departments to mobilise field functionaries at these places to mitigate the problems of the people.

Issues and bottlenecks hampering the progress of developmental tempo of the district were also discussed in the meetings.
