DDC Poonch reviews arrangements for Shri Budha Amarnath Yatra 2022

 

POONCH : Deputy Commissioner Poonch Inder Jeet today reviewed the arrangements for Annual Budha Amarnath Yatra 2022 scheduled to start from July 29, 2022.

The meeting was convened here at Mandir Complex, Mandi and was attended by SSP, Rohit Baskotra; ACD, Abid Hussain Shah; CEO Tourism, Dr. Mohd. Tanveer; Tehsildar Mandi, Shazad Latief Khan; Xen PHE, Rajesh Sethi; Xen PWD(R&B), Harvinder Singh; Functional Manager DIC Poonch, Zamood Ahmed, SHO Mandi and other concerned officers besides BDC Chairperson, Shamim Ganai, Taj Mir, Molana Fareed and members of Budha Amarnath Yatra Committee and civil society members.

The meeting discussed security arrangements, traffic management, provisions for power, solar light in market, safe drinking water, medical facilities, vehicle parking, transport facilities, black topping from Bus stand to Mandi road, temporary sheds for langer, LPG Cylinder, accommodation and other amenities for the pilgrims.

The meeting was informed that the yatra will commence on the 29th of July and culminate on the 8th of August with the departure of ‘Chari Mubarak’ from Shri Dashnami Akhara Poonch.

The DC exhorted upon all concerned Departments and stakeholders of Budha Amarnath Yatra to ensure foolproof arrangements for the smooth and successful conduct of the yatra.

The PDD functionaries were directed to provide uninterrupted power supply, while the PHE department was asked to arrange water tankers round the clock for yatris.

Stressing for better sanitation and cleanliness at the langer sites, the DDC asked Municipal authorities to arrange dustbins and proper cleanliness.

The BMO/ADMO Mandi was directed to deploy a medical team and Ambulance during Yatra.

The Deputy Commissioner directed the Xen PMGSY to expedite the blacktopping work from Bus Stand to Mandi Market.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner also inspected developmental works and directed the concerned executive agency for their timely completion.
