DDC Pulwama visits AIIMS site, takes stock of dev works

Pulwama: District Development Commissioner Pulwama, Dr. Raghav Langer along with ADC Tral today visited the site for All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) at Awantipora to take stock of status of development works being executed there.
During the visit, the DDC enquired about construction of approach road to AIIMS, provision of water and electricity and other related utilities of the prestigious project.
On the occasion, officials of Central Public Works Department, executing agency for the AIIMS project informed that out of 5001 metres of boundary wall, work on 4500 has been completed
Executive Engineer, R&B, informed that work on double lane approach road to AIIMS coming up at an estimated cost of Rs 1650 crores has been taken up.
Public Health Engineering Department informed that out of Four tube wells work on one has been taken up while locations for other three wells has been identified.
The DDC urged the officers to work in tandem so the process of construction of the premier health institute is carried out in a smooth and expeditious manner for its timely completion.
Later, District Development Commissioner along with district civil and police officials chaired a Public Darbar at Town Hall Awantipora.
During the darbar, various deputations and individuals apprised the DDC of their issues and sought early resolution.
A deputation of Reshipora raised the issue regarding erratic power and water supply and macadamization of Reshipora – Panzgam Road.
Another deputation of Panir Jageer, Tral demanded electric transformer, maintenance of road and improvement of LT lines.
A deputation of Renzipora demanded macadamization of interior road, adequate water supply.
Similarly, deputations from Awantipora, Tangbagh, Kanday pora and Nundreshi colony raised issues regarding electricity, rehabilitation of shopkeepers whose shops came under approach Road to AIIMS, supply of firewood, irrigation facility, repair of lanes and installation of electric poles.
A delegation of Stone Quarry Union demanded permission for mining on the identified spots.
The DDC gave a patient hearing to the issues and demands of people and assured timely redressal of all their genuine issues. He impressed upon all the officers to ensure prompt redressal of public grievances.
