DDC Rajouri discusses Holistic Agriculture Development Project with stakeholder departments

RAJOURI : District Development Commissioner of Rajouri, Vikas Kundal, chaired a meeting to discuss the implementation of the Holistic Agriculture Development project in the district.
The meeting was attended by the officers of line departments, including the Chief Planning Officer, Mohammad Khurshid and the District Sheep Husbandry Officer, Dr. Sarfraz Naseem Choudhary.
During the meeting, Dr. Choudhary, who is the Nodal officer for the implementation of the scheme, briefed the meeting about the objectives of the project. He explained that the project aims to create awareness and build confidence among the stakeholders for the implementation of the prestigious project. The approved plan consists of 29 projects that aim to push agriculture and allied sectors to a new trajectory of growth, with the mission of massive transformation of the agriculture sector.
The approved projects will transform the agricultural economy of the UT in the next five years by doubling the outputs, boosting exports, and making the sectors more sustainable.
The District Development Commissioner emphasized the use of Information Technology for the improvement of the agriculture sector in the district. He also focused on the dissemination of knowledge from lab to land through Panchayats and other local bodies. He stressed the importance of adopting the prescribed guidelines for the implementation of the project to transform agriculture from a subsistence activity to a sustainable venture. He directed the nodal officer to conduct training sessions in an innovative manner and make sure that all the venues selected for training have proper space and other logistics.
Furthermore, the District Development Commissioner asked to encourage the ground workers to update their knowledge and skills regularly to ensure the success of the project. He emphasized the importance of collaboration and coordination among all stakeholders to achieve the project’s objectives.
