DDC Rajouri holds public grievance redress camp at Kalakote
Rajouri : Continuing the massive public outreach initiative of the District Administration, District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Rajesh K Shavan on Thursday listened to the public issues here at a Public Grievances Redressal camp held at Kalakote.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Kalakote, Krishan Lal; Additional SP, Girdari Lal; Chief Planning Officer, Mohammad Khurshid; SE PWD, Shahid Latief; SE Jal Shakti, SR Shukla; PO ICDS, Kartar Singh; CEO Education, Gulzar Hussain; ACD, Sushil Khajuria; Executive Engineers of the PWD, Jal Shakti, I&FC, PMGSY, JKPCC besides other districts and sectoral officers were also present on the occasion.
BDC Chairperson Kalakote, Babu Khan; BDC Chairperson Moughla, Sulekha Kotewal; DDC Member Kalakote, Anita Thakur; DDC Member Moughla, Shamim Akhtar; DDC Member Dhangri, Rameshwar Singh; President MC Kalakote, Vijay Suri, Sarpanches, Panches and people drawn from various sections of society including social activists, prominent citizens, retired Government Employees, and common masses from Kalakote and adjoining areas thronged the Public outreach camp and put forward several issues.
They apprised the DDC about developmental issues of their respective areas and sought augmentation of water supply, macadamization and renovation of roads, up-gradation of schools, better health services and other related issues. Many of the issues were resolved on the spot with the intervention of the concerned departments.
Specific issues projected on the occasion included widening of Siot to Kalakote road, blacktopping of road from Sair to Dali-A, Sialsui to Phali road, repairing the old hand pumps, paucity of staff in health and educational institutions, repair and renovation of roads, construction of a bridge at Pathinala, up-gradation of GHHS School Kalakote, shortage of electricity poles, replacement of the worn-out water pipes etc.
Other issues included completion of work on GDC Moughla building, lack of a water supply scheme at Dadote-A, inclusion of eligible beneficiaries under PMAY scheme, exaggerated electricity bills, sanctioning of a playground at each panchayat, construction of road from Garn to Phali Bharamna, construction of road from Panjnara to Phali, up-gradation of GHS Bathera, restoration of water supply scheme at Bathera and other related issues were raised during the programme.
Public also demanded making the Gujjar and Bakerwal hostel Kalakote functional, completion of work on Degree College Kalakote building, sanctioning of SBI Bank Branch at Kalakote and Kendriya Vidyalaya, construction of a Revenue complex at Kalakote, up-gradation of HS Tattapani to HSS, ATM facility at Tattapani, blacktopping of the road from Beragoa to Tatapani, the revival of Kalakote coal mines etc.
Some more issues highlighted on the occasion included sanctioning of a wool centre at Bathera, sanctioning of funds under TSP, PHE Water Tank, delayed SBM and MGNREGA payments, organisation of special awareness camps for dissemination of necessary awareness among the masses about centric and UT Government schemes, repair and renovation of Girl High School Breri, construction of link roads in municipal and rural areas etc.
Other issues include construction of an examination hall at HSS Teryath, restoration of Water supply scheme at Dharamsala, up-gradation of HS Dharamsala and HS Dulan to HSS and MS Dalyote to HS, repair and renovation of the road from Badanu to Dharamshala, sanctioning of a Degree college at Terayth, construction of road from Argi to Nasimpura besides other related issues were also projected during the public outreach camp.
The DDC gave a patient hearing and assured that their genuine grievances would be redressed in a time-bound manner.
Regarding the augmentation of power supply in the district, the DDC said that necessary instructions have been passed on to the concerned authorities from the PDD for the completion of work on all the receiving stations and transformers by the end of June this year.
Earlier, the DDC listed various initiatives of the district administration including ensuring transparency and accountability in its functioning; providing drinking water supply to all the households of the district under the Jal Jevan Mission with new 264 water supply scheme projects, beautification of Rajouri and other towns; Lokmitra initiative, who are working as eyes and ears of the Government; speedy registration under the SEHAT scheme; concrete COVID19 control measures etc.
He also passed a slew of directions to the concerned departments for timely resolution of all the issues and demands projected during the public outreach camp.
Meanwhile, the DDC also distributed Wheel Chairs among four specially-abled persons. He also inaugurated Steps and Railing leading to the Kalban Temple, constructed by the Municipal Committee Kalakote.
