DDC Rajouri inspects progress on GMC campus building
Rajouri: District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Mohammad Nazir Sheikh on Sunday inspected progress on Government Medical College campus building.
The construction work on the campus is being executed by the Public Works Department.
The DDC was accompanied by Superintending Engineer PWD, Bisharat Gelani Bhatt; District Statistical and Evaluation Officer, Bilal Rashid Mir; Assistant Executive Engineer, Mohammad Ashraf and Junior Engineer, Shariq Mir.
The Superintending Engineer PWD informed that the total estimated cost of the project is Rs 139 crore, including Rs 69 crore of the Academic and Administrative block, Rs 40 crore of the residential and hostel block and Rs. 30 crore of the allied works.
He further informed that the structure work on the project is complete in all respects and the finishing work is in progress which is scheduled to be completed by the end of December 2020. It was also highlighted that the work on the approach road is under execution and the work of black topping of the said road shall be completed by end of October,2020.
The DDC directed the concerned authorities to speed up the work on the project and called for execution of work in double-shift to complete the academic and administrative block in all respects by the end of October,2020, so that these are made functional to enable the people to avail the benefit in term of medical services. He also asked for completing the work of black topping on the approach road within shortest possible time.
