DDC Rajouri reviews implementation of Health Sector schemes

Rajouri: District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Rajesh K Shavan on Saturday took a detailed review of the Health Sector here at a meeting of the concerned officers held in his office chamber.

The meeting was attended by the Chief Planning Officer, Mohammad Khurshid; Principal GMC, Kuldeep Singh; Medical Superintendent DH, Dr Yaqoob; Assistant Controller Drugs, Surinder Mohan; Assistant Controller Food, Ajeet; District Health Officer, Dr Khalid Mansoor besides other concerned officers were present in the meeting.

A detailed discussion on various agenda points including health care services, availability of essential drugs in the district, steps are taken for hygiene and sanitation in GMC&AH, staff position and other related points was held during the meeting.

The meeting was informed that there is a sufficient stock of the essential drugs available for the users and regular inspections are being carried out to make sure that only the standard quality drugs are provided to the public.

It was further informed that as many as 93 samples of the drugs have been lifted from different medical stores during this month.

The DDC asked the concerned officer to develop an effective mechanism to ensure that the quality drugs at genuine prices are made available to the users. He also asked for increasing intensity of inspections and sought stern action as per rules against those found floating the rules.

About the Jan Aushadhi Kendras, the concerned officer apprised that ten Kendras have been sanctioned for the district out of which one is in GMC&AH premises, while remaining nine would be made functional at the earliest.

The space for operating the Kendras has also been identified besides all the Block Medical Officers have been directed to expedite the process of issuing the licence for these Jan Aushadhi Kendras.

While reviewing the sanitary condition at GMC& AH, the DDC asked the Principal GMC to take concrete measures in this regard.
