DDC Rajouri reviews performance of PWD, PMGSY Department
Rajouri: District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Rajesh K Shavan on Thursday took a detailed review the performance of PWD and PMGSY Department here at a meeting held in the Conference Hall of the DDC office Complex.
The meeting was attended by the SE PWD, Shahid Latief; ExEn PWD Rajouri, Mohd Zubair; ExEn PWD Nowshera, Prem Kapoor; ExEn PMGSY Rajouri, Subash Chander, ExEn PMGSY Budhal, Abdul Gani besides the AEEs of the PWD and PMGSY were also present in the meeting.
During the meeting, the DDC sought a detailed report from the concerned Executive Engineers of the PWD and PMGSY about the physical and financial status of the works on the developmental projects being carried out in the district .
While taking a review of the PWD Rajouri division, the concerned officer informed that out of 47 schemes being maintained by the department, 43 have been tendered and work on 12 is in progress. The DDC directed the concerned officer to ensure that the work of maintenance on the remaining roads starts from tomorrow.
Regarding the blacktopping of the roads, the concerned officer informed that the department has achieved the set target of 36 KM in the current financial year.
Regarding building projects, the concerned officer apprised that the out of 14 the work on 2 projects is complete and the rest are at different phases of execution
Similarly, the Executive Engineer PWD Nowshera also apprised the chair about the physical and financial progress of schemes under execution in Division Nowshera.
Regarding the PMGSY Rajouri and Budhal divisions, the concerned officers informed that about 194 KM of road length has been blacktopped in both the divisions and 139 KM road length is targeted to be blacktopped in Rajouri and 90 KM in Budhal division till May this year.
The DDC directed the concerned Executive Engineers of the PWD and PMSY to ensure the completion of work on repair and renovation of all the roads and blacktopping by the first week of April this year. He also directed them to ensure proper maintenance of all the roads and bridges in their respective jurisdictions.
