DDC Rajouri reviews progress of Education Sector projects; preparedness for reopening of schools

 

RAJOURI : District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal today reviewed the progress on ongoing developmental projects of the Education sector here in a meeting of the concerned officers held in his office chamber.

During the meeting, the DDC took a comprehensive review of the physical and financial progress of the projects undertaken under District Capex, DDC, BDC and PRI grants.

The meeting was informed that the work on 26 projects under PRI grants approved at an estimated cost of Rs 1.12 crore and 3 projects under BDC grants is in progress. Implementation of Mid Day Meal was also reviewed in the meeting.

Regarding expenditure incurred on the projects, the concerned officer apprised that out of Rs 10.40 crore allocated funds, Rs 7.12 crore has been expended.

Regarding resuming of physical class work, the concerned officer apprised that the district has 2073 schools including 1722 government and 351 private with total enrollment of 157914.

The DDC asked the concerned officers to make available the required facilities like seating arrangements with proper distancing, drinking water, power supply etc in the educational institutions so that the students don’t face any inconvenience.

He asked for strict observance adherence to COVID19 protocols by the students and staff to avoid the risk of infection in the educational institutions.
