DDC Rajouri reviews progress on PMAY-U houses

Rajouri: District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Rajesh K Shavan on Wednesday reviewed the progress on houses being constructed in urban areas of the district under flagship housing scheme PM Awas Yojana(PMAY-U).

The meeting was attended by the Additional Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Sher Singh; Chief Planning Officer, Mohammad Khurshid; Project Officer DUDA, Kavita; Executive Officers MCs.

President Municipal Council Rajouri, Mohd Arif; Chairman Municipal Committee Nowshera, Narinder Kumar; Chairman MC Thanamandi, Shakeel Mir and Chairman MC Kalakote, Vijay Suri were also present in the meeting.

The meeting was informed that against the target of 1520 houses, the work on 50 is complete. The DDC sought a detailed report from the concerned officers about the status of geo-tagging, the number of houses attached with MIS, payment made to date.

While taking a review of the cases being sanctioned under housing for all scheme, the Project officer DUDA informed that as many as 25 cases have been sponsored and installment of funds in 2 cases have been disbursed. The DDC asked the concerned officer to motivate the public to avail the benefits under the housing for all scheme so that the number of beneficiaries can be increased in the district.

The DDC asked the concerned Presidents of the MCs to keep a close eye on the work of the PMAY houses being executed in the areas of their respective jurisdictions and ensure that quality material is used and the target was achieved within the shortest possible time.

The Chief Planning Officer was asked to get the list of the approved beneficiaries published in the leading newspapers and also upload the same on the portal of the District Administration to ensure transparency.

The concerned officers were directed to ensure the timely payment of the works so that the people don’t suffer. The Project Engineer (SLTCs) was asked to speed up the process of geo-tagging of the assets at each stage and also ensure that the houses are attached with MIS.

The DDC asked the Executive Officers to maintain proper cleanliness and sanitation in the towns and aware the masses about the importance of cleanliness.
