DDC reviews arrangements for “Kissan Pakhwada” at Samba
Samba: District Development Commissioner, Rohit khajuria, today chaired a meeting of district officers to discuss modalities and review arrangements for ‘Kissan Pakhwada’ being held from 7th to 21st of July 2020 in the district.
Chief Planning Officer, Chief Agriculture Officer, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, Chief Horticulture Officer, District Agriculture Officer, District Sheep Husbandary Officer, Assistant Director Fisheries, Lead District Manager, District Development Manager NABARD besides other concerned officers and officials were present in the meeting.
DDC asked the district officers to display their departmental activities and schemes in the awareness cum Kissan Melas to be conducted during the Kissan Pakhwara. He instructed them for ensuring strict adherence to all preventive protocols and SOPs regarding COVID-19 like social distancing and mask wearing.
He asked the Lead Bank Manager for ensuring participation of banks during the Kissan Pakhwara so that 100 per cent KCC coverage of the farmers can be achieved.
DDC, while exhorting bankers and officers to remain proactive towards achieving desired results during ‘Kisan Pakhwada’, stressed that focus must be on enabling farmers to have easy access to concessional loans by means of KCC. He asked them to reach out to the farmers even before the start of the ‘Kissan Pakhwada’ and make them aware about their schemes and programmes which can be availed by farmers through KCC.
All efforts shall be made to make people aware about the benefits to be driven from the welfare schemes such as KCC, PM-KISSAN etc for which publicity material such as hoardings, pamphlets and banners shall be installed at public places, he added.
DDC directed the officers to ensure cent percent coverage of farmers including all those belonging to Animal, Sheep Husbandry and Fisheries sector under the purview of centrally sponsored PM Kissan and KCC schemes.
While discussing the status of PM-Kissan, the DDC directed the revenue department to clear the pendency of verification of record of eligible farmers at the earliest so that the final list can be consolidated to achieve the target on time. He asked departments to launch massive awareness regarding the Pakhwada and the schemes including new technologies of cultivation.
DDC directed Chief Agriculture Officer Kathua to make a calendar of activities for ‘Kissan Pakhwada’ involving all the stakeholders.
Lead Bank Manager, Samba was directed to ensure that all bank branches of the district have proper hoardings, literatures regarding various schemes available.
