DDC reviews functioning of ICDS at Anantnag

Anantnag: The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Anantnag, Anshul Garg today chaired a meeting of ICDS and Health officers to review the functioning of ICDS department, progress of Covid-19 vaccination programme at DC office here.

The DDC directed the ICDS officials to universalise the outreach of their schemes in the district. He also stressed for proper functioning of AWCs with provision of all basic facilities including safe drinking water.

While highlighting the government’s commitment for education and empowerment of Girl Child, Garg laid special emphasis on effective implementation of Ladli Beti, SAG and BBBP programmes.

The DDC applauded the AWWs for playing an important role in the fight against Covid, and stressed that all the AWWs must get vaccinated so that they become immune against the disease. He also directed the ICDS officials to provide human and logistic support for the upcoming Pulse Polio Day on 31 January, 2021.

The DDC also reviewed the status of the ongoing Covid-19 vaccination programme in the district which was started on 16 January across the country. He informed that the Covid vaccine is safe and directed the officials to take appropriate steps for effective implementation of the vaccination programme.

The meeting was informed that 951 people have been vaccinated so far and the immunisation programme is going on smoothly at 11 Vaccination centres.

Among others, the meeting was attended by ADC(S), CMO, CDPOs and other concerned officials.

Meanwhile, several PRI members met the DDC and felicitated him for taking the reins of administration in the district.

While recognising the importance of local self-governance vis-à-vis plan formulation and implementation as per local needs, the DDC advised the PRI members to act as liaison between the people and the administration.

He also assured them of full cooperation from all line departments for smooth implementation of developmental and welfare schemes of the govt.
