DDC reviews progress of enrollment of children at Anantnag

Anantnag: The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Anantnag, K K Sidha today convened a meeting of Education, ICDS and Planning departments to review the progress of enrollment of children from home, Anganwadi centres and drop outs in the schools.

The DDC directed the concerned officers to ensure cent percent enrolment in the district and asked them to conduct such enrollment drives on every Wednesday.

He also directed the concerned to organise awareness camps for enrolment of above 3 yr old kids, drop outs and children belonging to weaker sections of the society.

Sidha informed the meeting that the district Administration will provide financial assistance, textbooks and other essential things to the drop outs of 11th and 12th classes after the identification of the same by the concerned departments.

The CEO informed the meeting that a total of 9454 students including 3723 from home, 5555 from anganwadi centres and 176 dropouts were enrolled up to 10th of December, 2020 out of which 4843 are girl students.

Among others the meeting was attended by Joint Director Planning, Chief Education Officer, District Social Welfare Officer and all ZEO’s and CDPOs of the district.
