DDC Samba reviews functioning of Poshan Abhiyan Scheme

Samba: District Development Commissioner, Rohit Khajuria, reviewed the working of ICDS sector, here today.
The meeting was attended by Chief Planning officer, samba, Sukhleen Kaur, District Programme Officer and Child Development Project Officers of Vijaypur, Purmandal, Samba and Ghagwal.
DDC directed the concerned to prepare district convergence plan 2020 under Poshan Abhiyan and instructed the CDPOs to ensure that frontline workers of the department actively perform their duties of spreading message of healthy nutrition for pregnant ladies and lactating mothers.
Meanwhile, the DDC asked the ICDS frontline workers to generate awareness among the locals regarding COVID-19 explaining them about the importance of wearing masks and hand hygiene through soap and sanitizers through their anganwadi centres. He also directed the Programme Officer to activate Mahila Shakti Kendra, a scheme to provide an interface for Rural women to approach the Government for availing benefit of schemes meant for their empowerment. He also directed for setting up of mobile exhibition van to educate women about different women related schemes. The van will move to blocks and villages to create awareness about different women related schemes.
DDC directed the concerned to ensure proper distribution of rice under wheat Based Nutrition to beneficiaries programme as per beneficiaries on record with day to day reporting.
