DDC Shopian reviews Skill Development sector
Shopian: The District Development Commissioner, (DDC) Shopian, Sachin Kumar Vaishya today convened a meeting of concerned officers to review formulation of Action Plan for Skill development sector here.
The DDC stressed upon the concerned officers to gear up and also get field machinery activated to boost the skill development scenario in the district. He also directed the concerned agencies to work in coordination to fill the demand-supply gap of the skill sector here.
He said that the artisans especially the youth should also be linked with proper financial schemes offered by various agencies like KVIB, EDI, and DIC etc. to enable them to boost their livelihood. He assured full support from the District Administration to give fillip to the skill development sector in the district.
The DC urged the unemployed educated youth to come forward and take part in skill developmental activities for which various schemes have been launched by the Government from time to time to solve the problems and other issues at grassroots level.
He stressed upon the officers to work with dedication and reach out to the people at their doorsteps and make them understand about all the Centrally Sponsored Schemes so that they can avail the benefits of these schemes.
Earlier, the DDC took a detailed review of schemes implemented by the concerned agencies in the district.
Among others the meeting was attended by Chief Sheep Husbandry Officer, Shopian, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, District Social Welfare Officer, Chief Education Officer, Chief Horticulture Officer, AD Handicraft, Lead District Manager, Superintendent ITI, General Manager, DIC, Assistant Labour Commissioner and Block Development Officers.
