DDC Shopian reviews status of works taken up under B2V programme

Shopian: The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Shopian, Sachin Kumar Vaishya today convened a meeting of concerned officers to review the progress/ status of works/ developmental activities taken up under B2V programme in the district.

The meeting was informed that maximum works have been taken up and many of them have also been completed while some of them are at different stages of completion.

Addressing the meeting, the DDC stressed upon the concerned officers/executing agencies to speed up the pace of work and ensure completion of all the works taken up under the B2V programme and also gear up men and machinery to complete these ongoing and under execution works within a fixed timeframe to facilitate the people especially those residing in far flung rural areas.

The DDC also took stock of developmental works taken up by various departments and the Languishing projects of the district.

The DDC urged upon the officers to work with mutual coordination for better results at the ground level. He also asked District Officers to remain available at work places as all ongoing works shall be monitored by the inspection committees during coming days.

He emphasised for setting up of Indoor Stadiums and Libraries at different villages of the district to facilitate the young generation especially the youth of the district to play various sports games so that they are able to channelise their energy in a proper direction.

The DDC exhorted upon the Power Development Department to work with dedication and leave no stone unturned in providing the better and uninterrupted power supply to the people of the district especially during the holy month of Ramadan.

The meeting was assured by the concerned executing agency of R&B that the macadamization work of the roads will be completed up to the ending month of August this year for better road connectivity of the district.

Among others, the meeting was attended by Joint Director Planning, Khursheed Ahmed Khatana, Chief Sheep Husbandry Officer, DPO, Ex. Engineers, BDOs and other concerned officers.
