DDC, SSP Shopian kick starts Clean India Programme
SRINAGAR: As part of ‘Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav’ Clean India Programme, the District Development Commissioner, (DDC) Shopian, Sachin Kumar Vaishya and SSP, Shopian, Amrit Paul Singh jointly kick started Cleanliness drive under Clean India Programme Organised by the Department of Youth Services and Sports today at Batapora Sports Stadium.
The cleanliness programme is supervised by District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Shopian, Gurmukh Singh Dutta.
During the 31 day-long long Cleanliness Drive ‘Clean India Programme’ various government buildings, offices, parks, schools, roads, streets and other public places shall be cleaned and garbage shall be removed from road sides besides creating awareness among masses about the importance of cleanliness.
The DDC on the occasion, called for conducting special cleanliness and sanitation drives in all Panchayat Halqas, Towns, Municipal Wards with focus on schools, panchayat ghars, health institutions, water bodies as part of ongoing Clean India Programme with due participation of all stakeholders especially the youngsters.
During the drive cleanliness will be conducted in all the departmental offices, Zones throughout the district.
Meanwhile, DDC emphasised to promote cleanliness to keep the environment clean and said that cleanliness is the best service to mankind and ‘ Clean India Programme’ should be the driving force while performing the day to day professional duties.
DDC exhorted for maximizing the benefit of Clean India Programme so that a clean hygienic working atmosphere could be created.
Officers and officials of Youth Services and Sports Department besides a large number of students were present on this occasion.
