DDC Udhampur asks RDD to focus on water conservation works
Udhampur: To review the Block wise progress of works, timely payment to labourers and other monitoring indicators under MGNREGA, 14th FC and other schemes in Rural Development Department, District Development Commissioner, Udhampur, Indu Kanwal Chib today convened a meeting of officers and field functionaries of Rural Development Department (RDD) at Conference Hall DC Office Complex Udhampur.
At the outset, Assistant Commissioner Development Mushtaq Chowdhary gave a detailed power point presentation about the progress of different schemes of RDD sector.
Detailed deliberations were held on various issues which includes MGNREGA, Status of wage/material and expenditure of Financial Year 2020-21, Labour budget performance, PDs generated, Timely payment of wages, Block wise status of wages and disbursement, Status of completed works, Geo-MGNREGA performance of Phase-I,II and III, Progress report on NRM, Rejection transaction, PMAY-G progress of phase-I,II and III, Status of Aadhaar Seeding, 14th FC, Block wise Physical and Financial progress, Status report under RGSA in new Panchayat ghars, Preservation of natural Bowlies, Repairing of Bowlies etc.
Under lining the guidelines of the Ministry of RDD to focus on water related works for water conservation, the DDC directed all the BDOs and concerned Engineers to keep in mind water conservation while preparing the MGNRAGA plan for the current fiscal.
Special emphasize will be laid on water conservation and water harvesting, she added. The DDC asked the BDOs for rejuvenation of Bowlies and other water Bodies in a traditional way for perculation of more water to enhance the ground water level through MGNREGA works. The entire MGNREGA plan shall be devoted to water conservation works in line with the Catch the Rain campaign under Jal Shakti Abhiyan.
The DDC directed BDOs to expedite the progress of works and achieve the targets set by the Government as per the timeline. They were further asked to conduct the survey and Geo- tagging of all existing bowlies and submit the detailed report within a month.
She exhorted upon the officers to prepare a plan and keep provision of rain water harvesting in newly constructed PMAY houses. Emphasis was laid upon the BDOs to motivate the general public to adopt roof water harvesting and replicate the same for water conservation in their respective blocks.
The DDC appreciated the working of RDD for timely payment of wages and completion of various works. She emphasized upon the BDOs to work with more enthusiasm and zeal to achieve the set targets in a time bound manner. Bankers were asked to clear the pendency regarding the linkage of Aadhar of the MGNREGA job card holders.
The DDC exhorted upon the officers to maintain the transparency and accountability in all the works being executed in RDD sector in the District and also advised to install Citizen Information board and maintenance of all required registers at panchayat level. The DDC impressed upon the officers to work with zeal and dedication to achieve the set targets during the current financial year and also stressed on close monitoring of ongoing works to ensure quality and adherence to timelines.DDC stressed on maintenance of labour material ratio under MGNREGA.
Among others, CPO Rajeev Bhushan, ACD Mushtaq Choudhary, Xen REW, Bashir Sheikh, all BDOs, AEE and technical staff of line departments were present in the meeting.
