DDC Udhampur flags off farmers’ exposure visit
Udhampur: Department of Agriculture and Farmers welfare today organized farmers’ exposure tour within UT under ATMA.
District Development Commissioner, Dr Piyush Singla flagged off the farmers exposure tour from Agriculture Office Complex.
Around 75 farmers including women farmers of left for one day exposure visit to Jeevika Project Malhar, Herbal Garden, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University Kakrayal to get acquainted with latest technological advances in the field of Agriculture.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC said that the farmers will visit different stations within and outside the district for making themselves aware about latest techniques for increasing the production of crops in the district and source of income generation. He also interacted with the farmers and said that Agriculture practices are changing every day with the development of new techniques.
“To make the best of emerging technologies, it is vital that farmers receive continuous education and training,” he added. He exhorted upon the farmers to take maximum benefits of such tours for updating their knowledge about the latest agricultural practices being implemented in other parts of the state.
Among others present were Agriculture Development Officer, B K Mahajan, Assistant Soil Conservation Officer, Vikas Padha, Sub Divisional Agriculture Officer, Rajesh Gandotra and other Officers/Officials of concerned department were present on the occasion.
