DDC visits Bandipora Market to inspect implementation of fresh guidelines

Bandipora: District Developmental Commissioner Bandipora Ravinder Kumar Friday inspected several locations of main market Bandipora in order to take review of the implementation of various COVID-19 related advisories especially the fresh guidelines issued with regard to opening of shops.
He was accompanied by Assistant Commissioner Revenue Reyaz Ahmad Beigh, Nodal Officer Mehraj Wani, President Trade Federation Bandipora Shamshad Ahmad, civil society members and other senior officers and officials.
On the occasion, DDC stressed on shopkeepers to resume their business as per the given guidelines, follow all the guidelines and precautions in view of the pandemic and urged the people to use masks and social distancing for their own well being.
While interacting with the shopkeepers, he urged them to maintain personal hygiene and ensure that they are regularly washing or sanitizing their hands and also ask the same to the customers.
According to the order issued on May 25, the business establishments have been classified in two categories –Essential-I and Essential-II. He said all the Essential-I category shops including medical shops, bakery, milk, vegetable, fruit, meat and poultry shops shall remain open daily from 9am to 5pm while the Essential-II shops shall remain open on alternate days to avoid rush in the market. All the shops shall remain closed on Sunday.
Tea stalls, eateries, restaurants shall operate kitchens only for home delivery of food items while barber and saloons shall continue to remain closed.
The DDC expressed gratitude of the people for cooperating with the administration in observing lockdown and the other guidelines, He said it was because of the support of the people that Bandipora till date has been able to successfully fight the corona virus pandemic He said a small mistake can again put is in trouble and hence we need not to lower the guard as the war continues. He appealed them to follow all the requisite norms and guidelines pertaining to COVID-19 pandemic so that the risk is avoided.
