Delegates from Hungarian Embassy and Varsities visit Marwadi University campus to discuss expansion of academic ties
Rajkot, : Marwadi University (MU) today, as a part of its endeavour to inculcate a more student-centric learning experience, hosted delegates from Hungary for 2 days. Delegates from the University of Dunaújváros, Hungary along with the Embassy of Hungary, India visited the MU’s campus to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the University of Dunaújváros for its BBA and B Com students. Negotiations for another MoU for Bachelor in Computer Engineering as well as Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering have also been proposed.
“The Government of Hungary is making efforts to bring more and more hardworking, focused and ambitious young minds to its land. By shaking hands with Marwadi University, we are looking forward to providing a holistic education programme that gives students, best of both worlds.” said Mr Andras Lazlo Kiraly, Ambassador of Hungary.
The Hungarian delegates were impressed to see how 10,000+ students from 50 countries amalgamated with the innovative teaching methodology that Marwadi University provided. “The University of Dunaújváros, Hungary is keen to promote research initiatives with Marwadi University that strengthen critical thinking and analytical skills of the students. By building a relationship with the faculty and students, we would sincerely make a considerable contribution in the fields of management and research,” added Dr Lazlo Balazs, Vice-Rector of Academic Affairs at the University of Dunaújváros.
Hungary, located in Central Europe and part of the European Union since 2004, has been an attraction to a large number of influential business leaders, with its government-dominant educational system providing its students with global career opportunities. Dr Sandeep Sancheti, Provost, Marwadi University, added that “This is a great step by us to provide the kind of global exposure students are seeking today. We look forward to deepening our ties and enhancing the career opportunities for our students.” Marwadi University has proposed a plan to provide a dual-degree programme for its BBA and B.Com students to pursue three years of their respective programme in Marwadi University, with the option of pursuing their final year from the University of Dunaújváros.
By pursuing the dual-degree programme, the students are eligible to take admissions in post-graduate programmes within the European Union. This will enable students to get a double specialization within a shorter span of time and avail all the benefits of a double degree from both countries. Mr Vazo Jozsef, International Office, University of Dunaújváros, mentioned that “Dunaújváros is the industrial center of the region. By offering a dual-degree programme, students would take a step towards internationalization, which would bring a lot of exposure.”
