Delegation of Traders’ Industry Cell calls on Advisor Farooq Khan

 

Jammu: Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Farooq Khan today maintained that LG Administration is committed to provide all facilities and benefits under various schemes to the traders and industries of the J&K.

This was stated by Advisor Farooq Khan while interacting with a delegation of Traders’ Industry Cell at Civil Secretariat, here today.

The delegation comprised of Rakesh Mahajan (Incharge Trade Industry Cell), Sham Lal Langer (Convener Trade Industry Cell), Ram Langer, Vikas Jandial, Jaininder Jain and Rajesh Thakur among others.

The delegation handed over a memorandum of demands to the Advisor and also put forward certain issues being faced by the traders here on day to day basis.

The delegation demanded compensation for the dry fruit traders who suffered immense losses during lockdown period. They also demanded waiving off rents and electricity bills of the shops under JDA, Municipality, Housing etc as the shopkeepers and small traders suffered losses due to less economic activity during corona pandemic.

The delegation also demanded free hold to the industrial areas and permission to construct additional floors at Ware House.

Advisor patiently listened to the demands and issues of the delegation and assured them that all the issues pertaining to trade and industrial sector shall be redressed in a time bound manner.

Advisor said that the traders will be soon provided with spacious ware house equipped with all modern facilities near National Highway.

He said that UT administration is taking necessary steps to redress all the issues pertaining to trade and industrial sector in order to provide relief to the trader community.
