Delegation of Trainees from ISTM New Delhi visits IIKSTC Dusoo Pampore

SRINAGAR : A delegation of 33 trainees from Institute of Secretariat Trainings and Management New Delhi (ISTM) today visited India International Kashmir Trade Centre IIKSTC Dusoo Pampore.

The visiting delegation was recieved by Director Agriculture Kashmir, Chowdhury Mohammad Iqbal at the centre.The delegation visited different section (facilities) of IIKSTC where the concerned officers briefed them regarding the functioning of the centre.

Later, Director Agriculture presided over an interactive meeting with the visiting delegation. He highlighted the present scenario of saffron crop in the area and the role of India International Kashmir Saffron Trade Centre for the promotion of saffron at national and international level.

He informed the meeting about the interventions by the department for the revival of saffron crop over the last few years. He said that besides the e-auctioning facility at IIKSTC the department has introduced a multi-dimensional marketing strategy to present our G.I tagged saffron at global markets like Dubai, Abu-dhabi and other International markets.

Later, the delegation thanked Director Agriculture Kashmir for Cooperation and arrangements made at the IIKSTC.
